Title: I loved you from the start (but that’s no excuse for the state I’m in)
Fandom: DC Universe
Pairing: (pre) Tim/Kon
Word count: 2,870+ words; another monsterrrr
Summary: When Kon dies, two of the comb’s teeth are missing and three are chipped.
Notes: This probably won’t make a lot of sense, if you haven’t read Miss Meeya’s Hair Wonder, which I’m sure you all did, so. Just to refresh your memory: the comb is a gift from Kon, the hair gel from Bart. And for those who thought Hair Wonder is all crack and fluff…this is Tim’s life, you know? So, I tried to explore the angsty parts we thought up. Needless to say, I am kind of really insecure about this. I really hope you (and especially Miss Meeya!) will like this.
Title is a lyric from the song “Hardest of Hearts” by Florence and the Machine.
I really hope you’ll like this!
The chemicals slide down the tilted angle of the floor, slow and systematic; filling the gasps between the stone, the small whimpers of spaces, puddles and lakes and oceans, their heat wetting the heel of Tim’s palm, eating at the gauntlet.
There’s nothing to replace Kon, nothing to shield Tim from the sunlight Kon drank in; the farm waking him ridiculously early even in San Francisco; the city yawning so wide it creaked through the tiniest buildings, through the windiest roofs.
ugh how do you manipulate language so beautifully
NOOOO CASSIE why would you ever. it must be so hard seeing tim steadily become more and more broken as another person he loves dies. and she knows it’s wrong but it’s the only way she can think to help. but it just breaks him more.
oh no and face touching, my ultimate weakness.
god this was so cute and heartbreaking. all of my timkon feels. I love reading about when tim was mourning everyone, it’s so painful. and you really captured that. everything is so desperate and sad and the end is perfect because yes tim is completely fucked up from this and kon gets that.
this is everything I’ve been craving lately, it’s perfect.
